I'm Gabija — a yoga teacher based in Copenhagen, teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation with a focus on alignment, breath, and creating space for you to actually feel something. My classes are grounding yet energising, thoughtfully structured, and open to all levels. No competition. No performance. Just you, your breath, and a practice that supports your whole self — body, mind, and heart.
Read my storyWell structured, well guided, and both creates sweat and softness… on top of that everyone loves your wonderful personality. Thanks for YOU and for becoming part of KomYOUnity.
Your guidance was very clear — even for people trying yoga for the first time, everything was easy to follow. Thank you for agreeing to be part of this whole event.
I first stepped on a mat ten years ago. Back then, it was physical — something to do between cities, between jobs, between versions of myself. I moved a lot, lived in several countries, and yoga came and went with me. Present sometimes, absent others. I didn't think much of it.
Then I burned out.
After years in corporate marketing, my body and mind quietly gave way. I came back to the mat — not out of discipline, but out of necessity. And for the first time, I felt what yoga can actually do. Not just stretch you or strengthen you, but steady you. Bring you back to yourself.
I grew up in Lithuania, built my adult life across Europe, and eventually found my home in Copenhagen. Last year, I took time away from my 9-to-5 to travel, reflect, and find what came next. That search led me to Nepal, where I completed a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training, with a primary focus on Hatha and Ashtanga. What I thought would be a personal healing tool became a calling I didn't know I had.
Before yoga, there was dance. For nearly 20 years — salsa, contemporary, ballroom, folk — performing in front of audiences and occasionally teaching. That background shaped how I show up in a room: with presence, with musicality, with an understanding of how bodies move and how people learn.
At the heart of every class is the breath. I always aim to connect movement to it — not as a technical instruction, but as an invitation to go inward. To find moments of release through the exhale, and to arrive, gradually, at that meditative quality that lives within the practice itself. Because yoga, as I understand and teach it, is far more than physical movement. It is concentration, meditation, and the expansion of energy. The asanas are a doorway — not the destination.
Students often tell me they feel genuinely safe in my classes — that there's a quality of held space that allows them to let go, go inward, and trust the practice. I see myself as a student and practitioner first, and a teacher second. That order matters to me.
I offer a range of ways to practice together — in a studio, at your workplace, on a retreat, or online. Everything I do is rooted in the same intention: to create a safe, inclusive, and meaningful experience that supports your whole self.
I currently teach at KomYOUnity and OHm Yoga in Copenhagen. All levels are welcome. I'm also open to teaching at other studios — reach out to explore what we could create together.
